Our History
Impact53 began in 2025 as a nonprofit consulting firm in SE WI with a goal to help nonprofits connect people, strategy and operations and amplify their double bottom line of mission and margin.
● “Impact” conveys the outcomes of our work together. We are passionate in helping nonprofits improve performance and amplify their impact of mission and margin.
● “53” (said as ‘five-three’) conveys two key messages
○ Geographic significance, we serve in Southeast WI, 53 is the beginning zip code for communities in SE WI (from Sheboygan and Fond du Lac in the north, metro Milwaukee and Waukesha, through to Racine and Kenosha in the south) 530xx, 531xx, 532xx, 534xx
○ Biblical significance, notably Isaiah 53 and Matthew 5:3 which emphasize themes of humble service, sacrifice, and redemption which align closely with our passion for serving non-profits who serve the most vulnerable.
Dan Depies
Founder | President
Dan has almost 3 decades of experience in business consulting and nonprofit executive leadership including organizations like Ernst & Young, Millennium Partners, Baker Tilly, Goodwill Industries of SE WI, and Open Sky Education/HOPE Christian Schools. He has been in roles such as VP Workforce Development, Chief Mission Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Interim Executive Director. He has a passion for serving others and helping organizations perform at their best.
Dan also has served on several non-profit boards and volunteers his time in youth sports and through his church. He loves spending time with his family and anything that can get him outdoors during the four seasons in WI.
